Week 25 - Austin, TX

Instagram: @alondrakayy

Life has been crazy busy and I love it. This past weekend we got the heck outta Dallas and went for a mini road trip. What should of taken 4-5 hours to get to instead took almost 8! We kept stopping to sight see and explore. I love my family. I love their love for life. Our brother in law came with so that was a huge change. A great change.

Kate Spade In Yellow

Though I can hardly contain my excitement, I won't bombard you with pictures of this thing. Mainly because I recently did a video of my set up here. What I will say is that I am so happy to have this lovely agenda. I have been searching for it for what feels like forever! I thought to myself, 'what do I have to trade for this?'. It had to be a miracle to find itself and that's when it hit me, my Kate Spade Zipped Agenda in coral. So I made a post and God got the message to the person who had this ray of sunshine. I say God because he does know our deepest desires, even if it's something as silly as an agenda. The trade happened and now it's here!

Even as I held it in my hands I could not believe it. My first thought was 'I'm NEVER letting this go'. I can finally say that I am pretty content with my small collection as of right now.

Girl's Night

You know those moments where you just need a break? Moments where you would do anything for ten seconds of peace and quiet. I've come to know that I am not alone. My husband has these same thoughts some days. He never says anything, but I can tell. After asking him the same question for the 100th time and Kayleigh crying in the background because she wants more juice, I see the little man inside of him dying for just a couple hours alone with his PlayStation 4. Or whatever men do when they are alone. Yesterday, I decided to give him the day. Well, not the whole day since he still had to work but at least the last few hours of the day before sleep time.

I have to say, Kayleigh and I were not complaining. We needed some girl time ourselves. We first went to the church to help making scrapbooks for a foster care agency. I wouldn't call it helping since I love anything that has to do with crafts and paper, but we did have to sit through traffic soooooo..

Afterwards, we went to our (my) favorite place: Chick-Fil-A. It took everything in me not to get anything. I am currently trying to lose a few pounds so anything fried (or good) is on the no-no list.

It was a great night indeed. I'm glad to have been able to have those special moments with my little one.

My Set Up In Photos - MTN

No rings. That's the only reason this little piece of leather has been working wonderfully for me. There is freedom in my writing and it's much appreciated. Many of you are not video junkies like 99% of the stationery junkies out there so you might not have been jumping up and down when a new MTN set up video was posted.. and so I thought this would be a great opportunity for another post. After all, it was getting pretty quiet around here.

I won't write much. If you are like me, I'd rather see than read.

The Front: aren't the scratches lovely??

Pockets + Pictures.

Pocket + Kraft Folder.

Kraft Folder + Insert (Notes)

For looks.

Emergency Information: Although I don't know how many people would think to look in here in case of any emergency.

Diary Section: Which you have seen here.

Kraft Folder: Paper for Notes + Stickers.

And that's all folks!

This lovely agenda is no longer mine. One half of my readers are hating me right now for letting go of such a 'rare' planner, the other half are angry at me for not selling it to them. People have pleaded and asked me to keep them in mind if I ever decided to let it go, but sadly none had what I have been searching for. A Kate Spade agenda. Just, in another style and color. You will see what I mean soon. Until then, lets track it together shall we?

A little MIA

Life has been busy these last couple of weeks and sometimes I just want to get home after a long day and cuddle with my husband. I have had a chance to upload a Midori Travelers Notebook update as well as a Kate Spade Agenda video. I will make a review of these on my blog I promise! Just wanted to let you know that I am still here. This is still my happy place.

Midori - Week 24

I thought after a few days I would be itching to move back into my Filofax but the opposite is happening. This lovely journal/planner is working out perfectly for me. Not having to deal with rings getting in the way has been such a relief. Before, I didn't realize just how much they bothered me until they weren't a bother.. if that makes any sense.

This week was busy and full. Lots of gym time which is great but the plan is to step it up this next week. Lots of Barns & Noble. Lots of eating out which really hurt our pockets this weekend but we survived! And to end the week on a good note we all three took a sweet nap Sunday afternoon. It was a lovely 7 days indeed.

The KJV Study Bible

This bible I purchased at Barnes & Noble one Thursday during lunch and it's the best decision anyone can make. There is just something about having a brand new bible in your hands that makes the day extra special. New white, note free pages are just ready to carry what God places on your heart. It is a fresh start almost. A new beginning.

As I mentioned before I am currently in Hosea and with my new purchases I decided to start on the first chapter. God has spoken new things to me and has revealed a weak area in my life. I'm glad. This means there is still room to grow in this crazy walk I have with Him.

I hope you don't mind the toddler feet in this next picture. I highlighted Hosea 1:2 because of Hosea's faith in God. I'm sure if He said to me "Alondra, go and marry a male prostitute" I would be like "God, are you okay? Weird demands are coming out of your mouth." Instead, he was obedient and did as he was told. Good came out of his faithfulness to God. I want that type of faith. For Him to say "Go and do!" and for me to do what he asked of me.

And what a better way to end the day than to explore our apartment complex with my little one. Our family loves peanut butter and sometimes our clothes hold the proof.

Sometimes, momma does everything she can to keep this head in place. I fail most of the time.

My Little Sister's Filofax

Last Saturday, my little sister slept over after taking her to see Maleficent (a must watch!) It was fun to have my little sister overnight and have missed sharing a room with her since I married my husband who was a trooper and slept on the couch for us. It amazes me to see how alike we are in both our interests and our hate for trying new foods. But mainly our love for paper.

Luz brought with her the lovely journal you see on the left and of course her Filofax which I gifted her (she forced me to give to her.) I'm glad to see it being used.

She doesn't have too much going on. Just a few things in the pockets I also gave her. Heck, lets just say she goes through my stationery boxes every time she visits and takes what her little heart desires. What really surprised me was the charm she added to her Filofax. I have seen many others do the same but what I thought was awesome is that she did this all on her own! She knows nothing of the large community of stationery addicts out there to see such inspiration.

There is a flyleaf along with the normal dividers plus extras. A notepad on the back and a pen loop I don't think she cares to use much of. I didn't go through each section since I was only given permission to show her diary section and as a planner person myself I know there are things I would rather not share with anyone, especially people I have never met.

It's pretty simple compared to my crazy weekly views of my own agenda but I still find it lovely to see. She took A LOT of my supplies home with her so I imagine it won't take long before her pages look a lot more colorful.

I love how my siblings share the same love as I do. Especially my brothers. We may not talk everyday, but we can always be brought together by paper. My brothers aren't into agendas or journaling, but man they can sure draw up some awesome images sometimes out of pure imagination.

Discipline Is Needed

Yesterday, our little one and I went to Target to buy a new bathing suit. Kayleigh has grown much since last summer. The old tiny bathing suits are proof. Shawn, my brother in law, met up with us to visit with his niece. After Kayleigh picked out her favorite swimsuit out of the colorful bunch, her uncle gave me a break and took her to roam around the red and white isles. I was easily found 10-15 minutes later.

"I knew you would be here!" he said as he walked up to me. I was surrounded by notebooks and pens. The first thing many people learn about me is my love for paper and so when I am 'lost', there's a good chance you will be able to find me if there is some type of book/paper store near by.

This journal was purchased because my small, red leather one from B&N was not working out. Much is written in my moments with God and I need space and lots of it. Recently, I've jumped into the book of Hosea and though I love His word I must admit, this hasn't been the most exciting read.

Not that there is anything wrong with any part of the bible. Hosea has been a bit more difficult to interpret and focus on than Proverbs was. I asked the question in one of the groups my church has on Facebook of how to discipline myself in reading the gospel even when it's hard to understand, read, or I am tired, sleepy (both are different!), or even *gasp* bored.

A lovely woman of God said:

"discipline to read the bible is what makes us gain those spiritual muscles in the area where we may be weak."

There was no better way to put it. Discipline is needed. Fighting my flesh will sometimes be required. There is power in prayer. Pray before you read. Pray before you dive into and study his word. He will guide you and speak to your heart whether you read Genesis, Proverbs, Psalms, Hosea, etc.

It's been a sweet revelation. So sweet I decided to start from scratch. New journal and also a new bible! Because this is is for sure falling apart. It's been loved on long enough. Will be introducing the new one tomorrow.

Till next time lovelies,

Julep Box - June

The Julep Box is a love a co-worker introduced to me last year. Immediately I was hooked. Each box contains over $40 worth of limited-run nail color and/or innovative beauty products! (Click Here for info)

For $20 a month, I have no regrets. Each box is as lovely as last months delivery. What I love most about Julep Maven is that a part of the proceeds goes towards organization that empower women. Their main mission is to 'ignite the spirit of engagement in women everywhere.'

I couldn't say no to that, especially with such an important focus.

Each box contains an inspirational quote.
You can also customize your box. So if you do not like what they have chosen for you, you can choose different.

& sometimes you get candy. Yes, you read right.

Midori Travelers Notebook

This little brown thing is my newest edition. Additional inserts are flying in from all around the globe (Japan + America) so it's not fully set up .. but I'd like to show you what I have going on so far.

If you are unfamiliar with the MTN, it's just a piece of leather with a string to hold inserts together. Simple, yet beautiful. The quality of leather is one I have not been able to find anywhere and so I took the $40 plunge and made the purchase! The only regret I have is getting rid of this baby a while back.

Free things. I LOVE free things. If it's free, most people ignore it. I in the other hand take one or even extras! The stickers you see were given or found. Everything besides the MTN itself and the polkadoted bags were purchased. There is nothing better than customizing your most cherished possessions with free stuff.

I'm excited to sync my Filofax notes into my notebook. There is so much of my brain that needs to be written down it's unbelievable. Things I want to see, do, experience, try, buy, etc. Lets face it, I have the memory of an elephant. My life NEEDS to be written down somewhere otherwise I will forget all details completely.

I'm not finished with my set up. As said before, I still need more inserts and am waiting patiently while I live next to my mail box. A video will be made soon (Man, I have missed making videos) to show you it's full beauty. Until then, be content with this.

Until next time,

Alondra Karwowski
